The best part of having Alice there was her calm demeanor no matter what state the baby was in. Happy, crying, sleeping, she swept in and gave me a break to shower (the best showers of my life), fed me, talked to me, taught me tricks. When Alice was with my son, I relaxed. I knew he was fine and I could truly take a break. Or if I had my son, she seemed to know just what to do in order to support me.

About Alice

I have been working to help people feel better in their bodies for almost 20 years.  Before becoming a massage therapist and post-partum doula I worked providing community access to, and caring for people with disabilities and mental illness.  I am a mother, gardener, traveler and study herbal medicine in my spare time.  I currently work as an MA in an Ob/Gyn Clinic on Capitol hill and am dedicated to my career supporting patients in making the best choices for their bodies, their families and their lives. I am passionate about giving all people the best care possible through connection, support, and touch.

Being trauma informed is an approach to care that emphasizes the importance of understanding the impact of trauma on an individual’s life and well-being.
